Steven R. Sligar, Ed.D., CVE, is a professor emeritus at East Carolina University. He has over 50 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation and this includes work with special populations of persons who were deaf and/or blind. He has a Masters in Rehabilitation and Special Education with a specialization in vocational evaluation from Auburn University and Doctorate in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from Northern Illinois University. He has published 53 articles and book chapters and conducted over 300 international, national, regional, and state presentations in the areas of vocational evaluation, deafness, and administration. He is past president and board member of the NC Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment Association and the American Deafness and Rehabilitation Association (ADARA). He was co-editor of the VECAP Journal. He serves on the editorial review boards of the VECAP Journal and JADARA.
