Segel Psychological Center is a vendor for the state of Florida Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services. We are a team of psychologists, neuropsychologists, and vocational experts, dedicated to serving individuals seeking career guidance, planning, and resources to make meaningful future career and life decisions. Our services include comprehensive vocational evaluations and on the job evaluations. We provide services throughout Broward, Dade, Monroe, Martin, and Palm Beach counties.

 

Job Description


As a Vocational Evaluator/Assistant, you will be responsible for administering vocational inventories, tests and write reports to determine suitable vocational goals and employment opportunities for clients (under the supervision of a certified Vocational Evaluator).

Clients are evaluated through administration of a series of achievement, aptitude, intelligence, functional capacity, interests, personality & work styles tests. Further, clients participate in exploration of transferrable skills, placement readiness skills, and computer knowledge skills with the purpose of guiding individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment towards successful career paths.

 

Job duties include administering comprehensive vocational evaluations for individuals working with Vocational Rehabilitation Services. Review documents (e.g., prior psychological evaluations, forensic/medical records, IEP’s, or VR documentation) to help with the evaluation process.

Complete detailed reports to help clients and VR counselors with recommendations for feasible career options, resources, accommodations, etc.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling / Rehabilitation Services, Social Work (Clinical), Human Services, Counseling (Clinical), Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Psychology or other related disciplines.

Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable with traveling within Dade, Broward and/or Palm Beach counties.
 

Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Check.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

 

Preferred qualifications:

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Experience with vocational rehabilitation counseling techniques, vocational evaluations, or in a related field.

Credentials such as International Psychometric Evaluation Certification (IPEC)

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
• Graduate degree in a related field preferred (Bachelor with equivalent education/experience)
• Designation or eligibility for CVRP, CCRC, CCVE, ICVE, RRP
• Strong understanding of vocational test instruments and labour market research methodologies.
• Experience vocationally evaluating individuals with complex injuries and disabilities
• Experience with or a willingness to learn vocational evaluation methodologies for paediatric and/or historical abuse cases
• Excellent communication, analysis, and report writing skills
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines consistently
• Preference given to court-certified experts
• Demonstrated commitment to quality, clarity and client focused care

About Us:
The Aptitude Network is a growing provider of vocational evaluation and consulting services for individuals with disabilities and other employment barriers. We partner with state agencies, attorneys, schools, and families to deliver expert assessments that guide meaningful employment outcomes. We are currently seeking a dedicated Vocational Evaluator to conduct in-person intake interviews and provide comprehensive vocational evaluations in the following counties in Kansas: Douglas, Johnson, Shawnee, and Wyandotte

 

Position Summary:
The Vocational Evaluator will be responsible for conducting detailed intake interviews, administering vocational assessment tools, analyzing findings, and producing comprehensive written reports. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, and a strong background in vocational assessment, rehabilitation, counseling, or related fields.

 

Key Responsibilities:
● Conduct structured intake interviews to gather relevant vocational, educational, medical, and psychosocial history
● Administer and score a range of vocational and psychological assessments (e.g., aptitude, achievement, interest inventories)
● Interpret assessment data to formulate vocational recommendations
● Prepare comprehensive vocational evaluation reports with clear, objective findings and recommendations
● Collaborate with referral sources (e.g., VR agencies, legal professionals, educational teams) as needed
● Maintain accurate documentation and comply with ethical standards and confidentiality protocols
● Participate in meetings or hearings (as needed) to present findings and support case outcomes

 

Qualifications:

● Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Vocational Evaluation, or related field (required)
● CRC or CVE certification (preferred but not required)
● Experience conducting vocational evaluations and working with individuals with disabilities
● Strong analytical, written, and interpersonal communication skills
● Proficient in Microsoft Office and online report-writing tools
● Must be organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing a flexible caseload
● Familiarity with IDEA, SSA disability programs, or state vocational rehabilitation systems
● Access to reliable transportation to serve clients in the Kansas City, Kansas area

 

Preferred Experience:
● Familiarity with IDEA, SSA disability programs, or state vocational rehabilitation systems
● Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus, but not required
