Position Summary:

The Vocational Evaluation Supervisor manages and supervises the Vocational Evaluation team, oversees the Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans (IVAP) process, and assesses the work skills, abilities, work readiness, and vocational potential through the administration of aptitude and educational achievement tests of the clients at the program site.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Researches, develops, and implements new tests, measures, and report formats to meet the agency's needs and the varying needs of disability populations.

  • Mentors, coaches, and assists in the training of other staff members, as necessary.

  • Supervise the measurement and recording of client responses to motivational techniques and criticism, as well as organizational ability, perseverance, attendance, punctuality, flexibility, interpersonal skills, work habits, and communication skills.

  • Oversee the development of Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans (IVAP), including education and vocational training referrals, Community Services referrals, and appropriate job search activities, based on the results of the IVAP assessments and other medical, mental health, substance abuse, and psychosocial assessments.

  • Review and sign off on Individualized Vocational Assessment Plans while making recommendations for adjustments.

  • Identify vocational evaluation staff training needs and ensure training is obtained.

  • Provides oversight to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the contracting agency as well as NYC HRA.

  • Ensures that all required statistical data and reports are prepared accurately and submitted promptly.

  • Implements internal controls to confirm that work and production are consistent with regular policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Case conferences with other WeCARE service providers on an as-needed basis, including Case Managers, Work Readiness Facilitators, Job Prep and Placement Coordinators, and Community Service Specialists.

  • Hires, supervises, evaluates, develops, and terminates assigned staff to ensure staff are productive and motivated.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, vocational education, psychology, or education, or the equivalent in a related field.

  • Current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credentials from the Commission on Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant prior experience in vocational assessment is required, with 1 year in a Supervisory role.

  • Knowledge of vocational systems and valid testing procedures, as well as knowledge of the labor market and world of work.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates are preferred.

Job Title: Vocational Evaluator

Location: Athens, Georgia Area (In-Person)

Employment Type: Part-Time (Contractor)

 

About Us:

The Aptitude Network is a growing provider of vocational evaluation and consulting services for individuals with disabilities and other employment barriers. We partner with state agencies, attorneys, schools, and families to deliver expert assessments that guide meaningful employment outcomes. We are currently seeking a dedicated Vocational Evaluator to conduct in-person intake interviews and provide comprehensive vocational evaluations in the Athens, GA area.

 

Position Summary:

The Vocational Evaluator will be responsible for conducting detailed intake interviews, administering vocational assessment tools, analyzing findings, and producing comprehensive written reports. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, and a strong background in vocational assessment, rehabilitation, counseling, or related fields.

 

Key Responsibilities:

● Conduct structured intake interviews to gather relevant vocational, educational, medical, and psychosocial history ● Administer and score a range of vocational and psychological assessments (e.g., aptitude, achievement, interest inventories)

● Interpret assessment data to formulate vocational recommendations

● Prepare comprehensive vocational evaluation reports with clear, objective findings and recommendations

● Collaborate with referral sources (e.g., VR agencies, legal professionals, educational teams) as needed

● Maintain accurate documentation and comply with ethical standards and confidentiality protocols

● Participate in meetings or hearings (as needed) to present findings and support case outcomes

 

Qualifications:

● Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Vocational Evaluation, or related field (required)

● CRC or CVE certification (preferred but not required)

● Experience conducting vocational evaluations and working with individuals with disabilities

● Strong analytical, written, and interpersonal communication skills

● Proficient in Microsoft Office and online report-writing tools

● Must be organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing a flexible caseload

● Familiarity with IDEA, SSA disability programs, or state vocational rehabilitation systems

● Access to reliable transportation to serve clients in the Athens, GA area

 

Preferred Experience:

● Familiarity with IDEA, SSA disability programs, or state vocational rehabilitation systems

● Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus, but not required

 

Location

The candidate must be able to conduct in-person evaluations in the following counties in Georgia: Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan,  Oconee, Oglethorpe, Walton & Newton.

 

Contingency Statement:

This position is contingent upon the award of a contract that is currently pending. Employment offers and start dates will be finalized only after contract award and funding confirmation. Submission of an application does not guarantee employment.
